The Harpur Lane Coffee Social was a vibrant community gathering, attracting around 70 residents. Some of them stayed for the full two hours despite rainy weather in the latter half. The event fostered strong connections, with residents enjoying multiple hot drinks from Joanna’s Beanery coffee van and children particularly engaged with games like the velcro bullseye. Residents expressed enthusiasm for future Cairn-sponsored events, including intercultural gatherings. Nick proposed a neighbourhood board game night, and Zula suggested a food-sharing event with cooking demos. Feedback highlighted the positive setup, friendly atmosphere, and the idea of integrating event updates sub-group into the existing WhatsApp group. Overall, the event was a success, showcasing the community’s desire for connection and collaboration.

3. Residents' Association Workshop
The Harpur Lane Residents’ Association Workshop brought together 14 adults and 6 kids for an afternoon of learning, discussion, and planning. Neighbours explored what a Residents’ Association could mean for their estate, with plenty of questions about how it differs from the OMC. The atmosphere was positive, with residents sharing ideas, clearing up confusion, and showing a real interest in working together. By the end, the group decided to design a leaflet to explain the RA and gather wider support before setting up an official meeting. Several residents volunteered to take on tasks like leaflet design, printing, and distribution. The workshop sparked great energy, with many keen to keep momentum going while also wanting more social events to bring neighbours together.
