Graydon
Newcastle, Co. Dublin
The landscaping at Graydon takes inspiration from the natural heritage of the area. Newcastle is one of Dublin’s oldest villages, where St. Finian first settled in the 6th century. Graydon takes its name from Sir Alex Graydon the prominent barrister who presided over Newcastle House. Graydon is surrounded by farmland and open countryside, so it is a very serene and peaceful place to live.

A survey put out by Home Together after our final event in Graydon received over 50 replies. The number of residents who’ve given a key to their neighbour has gone from 25% to 75% in the time Home Together have been there.
“There’s now a stronger sense of belonging and inclusivity. Activities organised through Home Together have brought people from diverse backgrounds closer together”.
Key Features
Community Action
In conjunction with ‘Common Knowledge’ we organised a very creative table making event. This table has since seen pride of place at the Street Feast and Halloween Finale event.
Working Together
The annual Street Feast brought together Graydon residents who enjoyed traditional dishes from all around the world. Face painting, bbqs, quizzes and art & crafts all contributed to a great day.
Celebration
Our Halloween Finale event was a huge celebration after 3 years in the estate. Residents mingled with stilt walkers, enjoyed a fire display, a pumpkin cutting workshop, facepainting and a traditional scary story written by one of their younger residents.
